Patients who suffer from pancreatitis will be advised to take pain medication such as acetaminophen or ibuprophen. In severe case, opiate will be prescribed opiate. Besides pain management, your western doctor will prescribe pancreatic enzyme supplements such as amylase to assist carbohydrate digestion, lipase to assist fatty acid digestion, etc. If your pancreatitis is induced by gall bladder stone, avoid fatty diet. If you suffer brain injury such as cerebrovascular accident causing the serum amylase, lipase level to elevate, you need to very cautious. Emergency room/ ICU is highly recommended.
